A mathematical graph is a simple construction composed of only two items: vertices and edges to connect with vertices. A vertex is most simply represented by a circle or dot, while an edge by a line or arrow connecting such dots. A roadmap is a type of graph, for example. Letting you know how one vertex (or city) is connected to another.
