A complex ontology requires a solid, well-designed tag hierarchy, much like the Library of Congress subject headings. Perhaps these are good enough, but brevity is lacking.

Such a tag hierarchy will be useful all around the web, from tagging blog entries, software projects, user interests, and so forth.

I suspect a good tag hierarchy will have 8 depths/layers at most, with around 200
