Mastering a domain

1. Find out who all the power holders are: they could be at the bottom or near the top
2. Identify main organizational structures: why they're there, what they're good for
3. Write down your primary mission: what you want to accomplish with it all. Publish parts of this to get more support from below.
4. Assess the ability of the organizational structure to accomplish that and re-configure as necessary
   1. Key things to change: managerial title, organizational name, and written purpose.
5. check in to see how things changed and repeat.
