Export Tool Regions

To add a HOT Export Region, login to the HOT Exports admin interface. In the 'Jobs' panel, click on the 'Regions' link. Click the 'Add Region +' button. Give the new Region a name and short description.

On the map, the 'Add Polygon' tool is preselected. To add the region extent, click on the map to draw the new region extent. Double click to finish drawing. Click 'Save' to save the new Region.

The region extent can be modified by clicking on the 'modify polygon' tool. Click on the region polygon. The vertices of the polygon will become visible and can be dragged to new positions to modify the shape of the polygon. As the polygon is modified, new vertices are added. Once you're happy with the new region polygon, click 'Save'.

To verify that the Region has been added, go to the HOT Export Tool create export page. You should be able to see the new region on the map.

Avoid overlapping regions which will make the export region mask look untidy.

####Updating Regions

If a region is deleted, existing export jobs assigned to that region will no longer be deleted, however they will not have a region assigned to them. In the admin interface a new region can be assigned to exports by using the 'Assign a region to the selected exports' custom admin action. From the admin home page, click on the 'Jobs' link. Select the export jobs which need to be assigned to a new region. Select 'Assign a region to the selected exports.' and click 'Go'. On the following screen select the export region to assign and click 'Update Regions'.

When adding a region which supersedes an existing region a possible workflow might be:

  • Create the new region.
  • Search for all jobs in the admin interface which belong to the old region.
  • Re-assign the selected exports to the new region.
  • Delete the old region.
