Welcome to the planet.opensuse.org wiki!

https://planet.opensuse.org/ was created to aggregate all the nice RSS and Atom feeds of the openSUSE community on one page to get a better overview of "what is going on" inside the community.

Everyone (not only official community members) can have their blog aggregated here - the only requirement is that the content of their blog has something to do with open source and especially openSUSE.

If you are familiar with github, you can easily fork this project, make and verify your changes and create a pull request once you are ready. This is what the administrators behind planet love most - so you might get the fastest reactions this way.

Another option is to write an Email to admin@opensuse.org and provide the following information:

  • the URL to the RSS/Atom feed of your blog
  • the language of your blog, especially if it's not in English
  • your full name (e.g. John Doe)
  • your IRC nickname on Freenode, if you have any (e.g. jdoe)
  • whether you are an openSUSE Member so that a "member" button can be placed besides your name on the feedlist
  • a hackergotchi -- while it's not mandatory, it is a lot nicer for the readers. If you need help with this send a picture to the openSUSE Artwork team.
  • an Email (or other information) how the admins could reach you if there are questions. While this might be obvious if you have a Github account or sent them an Email, it speeds up the process if there are questions coming up after a few months.

Here is a template you might use for your Email:

Subject: Requesting integration in planet.opensuse.org Body: Hi

Please add my personal feed into planet.opensuse.org. I am planning/doing posts that are relevant to the openSUSE community and want to see them integrated in the page:
