As the next step after pseudo3d capabilities, the ebsd and grain data functionality of mtex is to be transferred completely into the 3d space. The goal is to be able to process 3d meshes that have been artificially created e.g. by neper, or created during grain reconstruction e.g. with dream3d.
To achieve this a new class grain3d is to take the place of grain2d.
