Mint 13 was using GTK3, but taking advantage (I believe) of the compatibility. There is a GTK3 gem. The API has changed a lot, to a more Rails-style of argument passing. There is the Ruby Doc documentation: http://rubydoc.info/gems/gtk3/2.0.2/frames. That's all I could find.
Also, the GConf gem seems to have disappeared, so the key accelerator for pause and resume is on shaky ground. Gsettings hasn't been implemented in Ruby yet, as of October, 2013.
