Welcome to the Lung-CCG wiki!

This project is aimed at aligning the Lung Cancer Diagnosis Computable Care Guideline (CCG) with minimal Common Oconology Data Elements (mCODE).

This project makes use of IHE Structured Data Capture, Computable Care Guidelines, mCODE, and standard terminology to create a set of reusable FHIR PlanDefinitions and ActivityDefinitions to provide decision support on next best steps. Each step is driven by a form of some kind (in this case IHE Structured Data Capture) parsed into FHIR Observations that are used to trigger steps within the CCG. mCODE and necessary standard terminology are used to define what data is required to move to the next step in the Care Guideline defined by the PlandDefinitions.

Goals of this work include:

  • Use of mCODE as a minimum data set for the Lung Cancer Diagnosis CCG and possibly other future Cancer related CCGs
  • Internationalization of mCODE and possible alignment with the International Patient Summary (IPS)
  • Use of FHIR Shorthand (FSH) for creation of PlanDefinition and Activity Definition Instances
