Notes

To packagers

  • A C++17 compiler is now required (GCC >=8 or Clang >= 5)
  • Gtkmm3 is now required (versions 3.12 to 3.24 are supported)
  • CMake minimum required version bumped to 3.12
  • libcpuid v0.6.4 is recommended with this version
  • Generally speaking, please have a look on the updated Dependencies section
  • Please note some files were renamed to follow GNOME's Guidelines for choosing an application ID:
    • Desktop file: com.github.thetumultuousunicornofdarkness.cpu-x.desktop
    • GSettings schema: com.github.thetumultuousunicornofdarkness.cpu-x.gschema.xml
    • AppData: com.github.thetumultuousunicornofdarkness.cpu-x.appdata.xml
    • PolKit policy: com.github.thetumultuousunicornofdarkness.cpu-x-daemon.policy

To users

  • Previous settings may be lost after updating from v4.x.x to v5.0.0 due to a change in GSettings schema
