is there a particular reason .as scripts were written using spaces for identation instead of tabs?

.as scripts seem to be the odd one out. source code aswell as shader scripts use tabs as identation.
having this kinda inconsistency is quite an inconvenience when editing .as scripts, shader scripts and source at the same time.

and i presume its even an inconvenience for most skin modders or the average player aswell who likely only ever interact with .as scripts, because most ppl or at least most ppl i know of rather use tabs instead of spaces.

cant we just have tabs for identation in .as scripts instead of spaces?
