I want to compare ocean model outputs with observations. Observation data have an evenly spaced vertical (depth) grid. However, the models have thinner grids on the surface and thicker ones at the bottom. I linearly interpolated the depth coordinates of the models to that of the observation using xgcm, but I lost some features. I want to apply weighting by depth thickness when interpolating model depths to observation depths. Can I do this with xgcm?
