Yellow hue/Display resolution issues #2956

Hi there, Yes, entry level Apple Silicon Macs are capped at 3072px horizontal HiDPI resolution. The only way to get higher is to create a virtual screen and mirror/stream it to the real screen, but this method has several drawbacks. You can add custom resolution without Pro (it's a free feature). Flexible scaling is a Pro feature, however the chip specific limit still applies. True tone is normally applied to external monitors, that is normal. If you don't want Night Shift and True Tone to affect the external display, you can set the display's type to Television under configuration editing in the app. An other cause of a dimmed effect or hue change might be changes made via DDC (under the DDC Control menu) - contrast and R/G/B changes might cause that. Here is how to perform a full reset if there is something that is not fixed by a simple app reset: https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/wiki/Safe-mode,-app-reset,-app-removal#exhaustive-reset |

After upgrading to Better Display Pro and trying to tweak the system configuration and flexible scaling, I was not successful in creating a custom resolution. I am running 2, 4k 32-inch LG monitors with a Mac mini M2, and out of the box, I can only get 3008 by 1692 on only one monitor (Despite using a Display port to Thunderbolt) cables. I purchased Better Display Pro because I read on a forum that I could add this custom display resolution with Better Display Pro. Either way, when I tried to initiate this and allow for the changes in my system settings after both monitors refreshed, they became slightly dimmer and more yellow. It is almost as if truetone is being forced onto both monitors now. I went in to restore the Better Display to the factory defaults, rebooted both the app and my Mac, and was still not able to return to the original monitor's brightness and hue.
