upscayling gifs would be a great help!

I have about 6 ways to Sunday we can unpack a gif and repack an upscaled gif in python. Can we start there? Can we make upscayl so popular with ai upres folks that it dominates and disrupts, fam?

Well, we already have a video guide. We're not sure about bundling the ffmpeg executable for at least two very different platforms, and we're definitely not bundling Python dependency hell. At most, we'd find a dependency hell in npm.

maybe it can be done using vapoursynth ?
As having to save all the images on your pc and having to deal with compression artefects is not ideal.

I don't see what advantages it has over FFMPEG, and for reasons mentioned above we will not use things that need Python.
