Kill tmiJS events

This may not entirely related to tmiJS but to the DOM itself, but I appreciate any guidance!

Question:
How can I kill an initialized event? like client.on()

Reason:
I'm using react useStates to set custom commands. If the value of command changed using setComand('abc'), the event will not care about my if statement because it holds the old command value when the event was initialized in the first time.

You can call removeAllListeners()/removeAllListeners(type) on the client or for individual listeners removeListener(type, listener)
