Investigate switching to Pekko due to OS license change #373
Comments
sure - the plan is to create a swagger-pekko-http when there are pekko-http snapshots with the org.apache.pekko package changes this is a pretty minor lib in the end of the day I am the only member of the swagger-akka-http org |
https://github.com/swagger-akka-http/swagger-pekko-http is forked and a set of snapshot jars published |
Thank you @pjfanning ! Is there any place I could do a symbolic donation for this gesture? |
Thanks @pfcoperez for your kind donation. |
As is noted in README.md
Is this project open to switching to the Pekko, which is an Apache incubated open source fork of Akka (at the point of the license change), see https://github.com/apache/incubator-pekko and all of the other Pekko modules at https://github.com/apache/?q=incubator-pekko&type=all&language=&sort=
In terms of progress for Pekko we have already published snapshots for pekko core (see https://repository.apache.org/content/groups/snapshots/org/apache/pekko/) and pekko-http (equivalent to akka-http) is going to come soon (big changes are already being done, i.e. see apache/pekko-http#34). Once pekko-http publishes its snapshot it should be possible to start work on this.
If the repo is open to this I can also help out in migrating from Akka to Pekko, most of the change should be mechanical (I would also presume the project and repo would need its name to be changed).
If you have any questions feel free to ask them.
