Hello there,

I would like to request a feature in this excellent PDF reader to add a sidebar that provides the ability to chat with PDFs. You can use the Ollama API or ChatGPT AI to chat with selected content, entire pages or entire PDFs, just like many Chrome extensions (e.g. https://www.elmo.chat/).
This will greatly improve the PDF reading experience. This feature will enable users to interact directly with documents while reading PDFs.
The sidebar will provide a chat interface where users can choose to communicate with selected content, entire pages or entire PDFs. Users can interact with PDFs by entering text or voice messages in the sidebar. Using the Ollama API or ChatGPT AI as a chat engine will enable users to have intelligent conversations with PDFs.

These artificial intelligence technologies can understand users' questions, answer questions, and provide relevant information and suggestions. Users can communicate with PDFs as if they were having a conversation with a real human, asking questions, seeking answers, getting additional explanations, etc. In addition, users can also communicate with other users in real time through the chat feature in the sidebar. They can share comments, opinions, and suggestions about PDFs, as well as discuss the content of specific pages or paragraphs. This will provide users with a platform for community communication, allowing them to learn from each other, share knowledge and experiences.

The addition of this feature will greatly improve the PDF reading experience. Users are no longer just passively reading documents, but are able to actively participate in them. They can interact with PDFs, ask questions, and get instant feedback. This will make reading more interesting and meaningful while improving the user's work efficiency and learning effect. In conclusion, by adding a sidebar with chat function to this excellent PDF reader, a more interactive and rich reading experience will be provided to the user. This feature will enable the user to have an intelligent conversation with the PDF and communicate with other users in real time. This feature will greatly improve the user's efficiency and satisfaction whether at work or in study.

@kjk do you want me to convert this to a "chat" (discussion ?)
about why PDF especially and other page text reader content are not a suitable method for chat bots.

MS Edge and its sidebar can be more easily used for the task on Windows, far better
as it already has hundreds of developers training it with rubbish contents.

@fanghuaqi
There is no common method for such interaction to be easily used except by the Chromium Web interfaces.
These are aimed at Public Domain users thus best suited to the task of providing one common User Interface.

SumatraPDF can Post a selection of text OR PDF IF common Curl Upload System to a web interface is made AVAILABLE .

This is similar to TTS, it is NOT possible to read ALL PDF documents without complex pre-processing. The systems are well suited to be plug-ins within a common Chromium code base.
