building projections featuring {target}

Hello everyone,

in Spack for building Lmod modules, i would like to have a projection like this

modules.yaml:
projections:
  gcc: 'compiler/{name}/{version}-{target}'

But apparently only "{architecture}" would be the closest variable being accepted in projections:

spack module lmod refresh
RuntimeError: some tokens cannot be part of the module naming scheme [target]. Did you check your "modules.yaml" configuration?

Although, for view projections, "target" seems to be a valid variable:

I guess {architecture} makes sense, as it is typically used as a very early "filter" to build CPU specific module tree.

But in my environment, the module tree is geared towards users in a heterogeneous cluster, picking up the software components they need.
So during job submission, they typically look up the softwarepackage first, and then the "microarchitecture" variant which fits the partition that they will submit the job to.

{target} then would help to minimise the filename length in projections...

Or does anybody have a better idea?

just found it by educated guessing: "architecture.target" is the magic bullet, which would answer my question.
So technically possible, semantically questionable...
