Add to this page things you would like to be able to do with sncosmo. Anything having to do with "SN analysis in python" is fair game, whether or not the functionality currently exists in the package. Be as verbose or terse as you like. Feel free to add to things others have written.

  • Fitting light curve models to photometric data [Kyle] For example, fit the parameters of the SALT2 model or Hsiao model or nugent models.

  • Photometric typing [Kyle] Determine the probability that an observed photometric light curve arises from a given model.

  • Simulation [Kyle] Given a set of observations (time, "depth", bandpass), simulate photometric data based on some supernova model(s).

    • Tools for specifying distributions of model parameters (including redshifts and host galaxy characteristics)
