I have a really basic question. Is it possible to use cowl to perform reasoning?

As of right now reasoning is not directly supported by the API, though of course it can be implemented on top of Cowl. See e.g. the Tiny-ME reasoner developed by our research group. Depending on adoption, we may consider adding a reasoning interface à la OWL API, though as things stand it is very low priority.
