No module named 'yaml'

after a debian full-upgrade my searx unfortunately stopped working and I'm at my wits end. Can someone help me out?

Trying to install it:

sudo pip3 install pyyaml
Requirement already satisfied: pyyaml in /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages (5.3.1)

I'm not familiar with python but apparently there is this virtual env /usr/local/searx/searx-pyenv which I enter with /usr/local/searx/searx-pyenv/bin/activate but inside installing the module yields the same message.

running the installer script again solved it:

/usr/local/searx/searx-src$ sudo -H ./utils/searx.sh install all
