asset subfolders are not available to users

using wiki.js 2

I've initially enabled all users read/write to/from root asset folder. then after a while wanted to do privilege separation and copied all individual assets to different asset folders and set permissions. then I had to disable users reaching the root folder because all the previous files were there and cannot be removed. now, even if a subfolder is available to a user, it is not shown on the asset manager. I suspect this is due to I restricted the root.

How can I resolve this? How can I remove assets? I have migrate from wiki.js if I cannot solve this :/
