I can work around it with this code:
This is a bit clunky. General comment: From a software engineering point of view all the IO functions should raise exceptions directly. that would make things much simpler and more "natural". |

For example when reading a molblock:
I might get such an error as in this example. The resulting molecule (
m2
) will be None.I want to catch valence errors and then run specific code only on these molecules.
The issue I'm facing is how can I do this? I'm not seeing a way to let "python know" what went wrong.
