pikepdf version 8.10.1 (distro package) <-- No. pikepdf 8.10.1 is not yet packaged for any Debian / Ubuntu distro. Anyway PDF Arranger 1.8.2 will not work with 8.10 as its by far too old. You need PDF Arranger 1.10.1 if you want to use PikePDF 8.10. If you want to keep usig PDF Arranger 1.8.2, use the pikepdf version which packaged in Ubuntu 22 (i.e. pikepdf 5) For the record the full stack of this bug is:

I did a sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade and pdf arranger does not change version. How do I update it? |

You cannot upgrade it using apt because only 1.8.2 is package in ubuntu 22. You can either install it with snap or flatpak or from source (see the README). But IMHO you should downgrade pikepdf instead. That is you should find why and how you got a so recent version of pikepdf. |

You probably have multiple versions of pikepdf installed, did you install anything with pip which could have brought it as a dependency? |

Try You might need to check the "site-packages" directories manually for pikepdf packages, you can list those locations via |

Thanks! Somehow pikepdf was installed using sudo pip. Probably because I am
so used to sudo apt that I unconsciously typed sudo pip.
I removed pikepdf, uninstalled pdfarranger using sudo apt, and then
reinstalled pdfarranger using sudo apt, and it works as I expect it to.
Cheers!

I'm on Ubuntu 22.04.04 and I was facing the same issue, having installed pdfarranger 1.8.2 via command line apt install. Removing it (with sudo apt remove --purge pdfarranger) and reinstalling via snap (sudo snap install pdfarranger) I got version 1.10.1 and fixed the issue. |
