follow profile description is very confusing

I've tried to wrap my head around the follow profile in the items docs and it's still very confusing for me.
Do I understand it correctly:

Switch MySwitch { channel="CHANNEL_A", channel="CHANNEL_B"[profile="follow"]}

Updates received through CHANNEL_A will be forwarded to CHANNEL_B as commands.
Updates received through CHANNEL_B will be ignored.

The follow profile is thus used to make an additional external device follow the internal openHAB item state.
Is that correct?

I would be happy to provide some clarity in the docs, since i also think it is described not clearly enough.

+1 I also find it very confusing. I still do not understand how it works to this day.
