Problem with steel texture from X-ray diffraction #2111
-
Hi, These are the raw pole figures plotted from the .rw1 files:
By using defocussing and background measurementes I obtained the following corrected PFs: Finally, from the calculated ODF the recalculated PFs look like this: The high intensity of the (200) poles aligned to the ND appears to be artificial, since almost no poles appear in the corresponding raw PF. Furthermore, this texture does not coincide with the tipical cold-rolling, ferrictic steel textures found in the literature. Any information would be very helpful. Thanks in advance. Martín Leonard |

Is it possible for you to share the data as well? Ralf. |

Hi Ralph, yes, of course. I'd be happy if the case results useful for the community. |

Hi Martin,
The point seems to be, that the first pole figure has so much stronger intensities in comparison to the other pole figures. If you do
you will end up with the following result
The normalization ensures that the intensities are comparable between the pole figures.
Ralf.
