Getting error: "Authorization is Required to install the packages"

I get the error "Download failed: Authorization is required to install the packages" for a lot of packages I try to install. I am signed in to the AppStore and I couldn't find anything in the docs about this error.

Here's an example:
% mas install 453114608
==> Downloading JSON Helper for AppleScript
Error: Download failed: Authorization is required to install the packages

Any help/guidance is appreciated. Or maybe this is a bug or limitation? Thanks!

It appears to be working for me now. I did install Rosetta 2 after reporting my issue. Is there any chance that's required for it to work? If so that'd be worth adding a check for.

Ran into the same issue on a new install of Ventura on an M1 MBP. Installing rosetta (by running sudo softwareupdate --install-rosetta) did the trick for me too. At first it didn't work, but it turned out I had to reboot before it started working.

I had same issue on a new M2 Mini - installing rosetta AND rebooting did the trick ....brilliant
