If the point of this is to upload videos to YouTube, shouldn't I be capturing a natural format for YouTube?

YouTube wants MP4: https://support.google.com/youtube/troubleshooter/2888402?hl=en. It can do others, but I really want to do MP4. The options to use are here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171.
