Hello,

currently most of the tutorials are mainly consisting of static images, which do not represent the workflow in iD very well. So I did some short introduction videos for the iD editor and wanted to ask if they could be helpful for LearnOSM: https://www.reddit.com/r/openstreetmap/comments/7p1ps6/first_batch_of_little_vids_for_beginners_is_there/

Are there any updates planned to the site? For example the tutorial itself is quite small on my screen, which makes it harder to read. The static menu on the left uses too much of the space available.

Hi,

we already came across your videos which cover some important aspects. These are not the only videos we found worth mentioning in learnOSM so we recently introduced a page on external resources. I inserted a link to the iD tutorial section of the resources page at the end of the guide, If you feel we should reference your videos other than as www.sjtdelfs.de/wordpress/?page_id=84 then please let us know

From time to time we investigate how to improve the appearance of learnOSM but our options are limited because it does not run on a framework of its own but is built and hosted by GitHub. There are different layouts for desktop computers as well as for mobile devices. If you let me know your screen resolution (and maybe provide a screenshot) I might get a better idea of your specific problem.

Keep up the good work and
Best Regards

Michael

My screen resolution was 1280x1024 because we use quite old monitors where I work. So I marked the areas that are not used by the actual informations red in this screenshot. As you can see the actual tutorial feels a bit squeezed between the right and left side.

You can also use those videos for learnOSM directly if you want to.

I now also did some of those videos for JOSM. You can find them on Reddit here but they will also be on my personal homepage soon.
