#558 - @katia-utochkina's documentation from user interviews:

Lack of engagement with the country page’s sidebar
The country page’s sidebar was mostly overlooked. Probably, due to several factors: the right-hand position of the sidebar, users’ browsing habits, visual hierarchy and implications of the F pattern.

Lack of visual appeal of country page sidebar
Many users reacted negatively to the overall appearance of the sidebar and its use of black colour. Participants commented that it was “too dark” or “intimidating”

Sidebar’s tab order
Users thought the sidebar’s tab order was not set correctly and that “campaign filters” content should come first.

Also, users thought that the tab content needed to be logically chunked and that “campaign filters” needed to be reworded as it wasn’t clear enough what it meant.

Filters
a) Filter behaviour was not as obvious as it needed to be. And users wanted more and better confirmation that they had successfully performed filtering operations. For example, if “active” filters were switched off in the map filter, then “active” items needed to be hidden on the map and in the accompanying list.

b) Users wanted to have a “select/deselect all” option.

C) Users thought that filters should be positioned left of the map as this is more conventional.

D) Users thought that “campaign filters” wasn’t an appropriate tab name and that it should have been reworded .

Language
The choice of certain words drew negative comments from all users. For example, users complained about seeing “archived” , “campaign filters”, “Missing Maps API” and wanted them to be reworded.
