Plan is to have a license ready for both fAIr github and Imagery we use , and other relevant topic of discussion
Do research on the what principals should we follow .
So How fAIr uses its data that needs licensing ?
fAIr stores tile images on local disk (offline) Uses them to train models , publishes them so that user can download input as well as output , So any imagery fAIr uses should have licensing to allow offline saving of tiles and resharing them
BaseModel that are to be used in fAIr should also have opensource license that they can be reused , shared and modified along with the training data and algorithm that is used to create that model should be open and publicly shared
Vector data used in fAIr are coming from OSM and will go Back to OSM , fAIr has no intention to redistribute /store data produced or used in process in other proposes rather than OpenStreetMap & Open Source
What currently fAIr uses ?
fAIr uses Ramp as Basemodel and Choice of selection is result of Research performed by 50 AI engineers at Omdeena , But not limited to : Open to further research and add other basemodel options if it fits our licensing and usecases
fAIr can use Imagery shared through Open Aerial Map but not limited to : Open to any TMS layer as long as it fits the same licensing as open aerial map
So what are the current licenses and ethics that we can reference to ?
There are three things that needs to be clearly stated in terms of licensing and usecases
GITHUB Repo ( Github and libraries that fAIr is using should have stated licensing they use )
fAIr works on modular approach , it has following important libraries and utilities
Raw-Data-API
& Obviously Main repo that contains frontend and backend code , Our Main Library should mention license
Currently most of HOT Repo follow GNU Affero General Public License v3.0
We can reference to Ramp and Microsoft AI ethics for research and develop and work on them
Ramp :
Microsoft :
Further to be added , Let us know if you know useful links that we can go through during research
In terms of creditability and explainable fAIr follows community approach that Tasking Manager Follows
