skimage vs opencv

Is it possible to consider replacing skimage with opencv for some functions, I have the impression that skimage is slower than opencv for some operations

Hi @nipeone we can take into account think kind of consideration only if we have proof. Consider that opencv as a 3rd party dependency is super challenging to maintain, we can go towards this direction only if we see a very large difference in terms of performance. Do you have any idea/code/examples to share? We can then build up a benchmark comparison. Thanks
