Currently, you have the ability to get notifications when the window is hidden or iconified
An "Only show notifications when hidden or iconified" checkbox (which is checked)

However! I have notifications from my desktop forward to my phone, and it would be nice if those got forwarded without needing to manually minimize my hexchat window before locking my box, so the ability to turn on notifications for HexChat when you are marked as "away" would be wonderful!

Is something like this possible already..?
(And if not, is this an okay feature to request?)

This is already an option in that same section. You must have a very old version.

Oh? Huh! Which option does this..?

Here's a screenshot of the full dialog box from above (I'm currently running HexChat 2.16.1)
The full dialog box from the above screenshot

I see the option to omit alerts when away, but I was hoping to do the opposite--and the alerts in specific I'm interested in toggling are specifically the desktop notifications (so not to squelch pings appearing in the tray when I'm looking at another workspace)

It'd be super-neat if I just missed something, because that would mean I could just toggle it and maybe see if I could contrib a docs update if it's not super-obvious~

Oh I misunderstood!

It should be a very easy feature to add, since its the literal reverse of that option.

(And suspected I was after the first message)
