I would like to stop a simulation before it finishes, or if it gets into an infinite loop using something like CTRL+C of kill without the FST dump getting corrupted.
It is not a big deal, for the current short simulation, I will just add another process with a timeout.
For long simulations (hours) such functionality would prevent the need to rerun the simulation.

I really think the solution would be for gtkwave to be able to deal with partially written files. That would also allow user to see the waveforms will the simulation is running.
