Bug report: zipping / batch download

Describe the bug
Can't batch download multiple files without zipping.

So even if ZIP is unselected in the user preferences, if you choose a batch download, it ZIPs them and that process takes time with a spinning wheel.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Further testing - it appears if I have BATCH DOWNLOADING turned on and use the checkbox (even if for 1 file) it creates a ZIP file which takes time - but it doesn't notify you that is what is happening. I'm dealing with video files 2gb-150gb. So this process makes the downloading client think the webpage is frozen or stalled and they give up.

If I click on the file name itself, then I can download the exact clip.

Expected behavior
We would like to be able to check off all the files we want to download and batch download them as individual files without having them zipped
