Abandonware status of docopt #519
Comments
i still use it and its very useful nevertheless. I upgraded my code that uses it to 3.12 and docopts still works with it. I use docopt in python CMD and have decorators that dynamically add commands to cmd. I found out while working with hundreds of developers that docopts is advantageous when creating prototypes where the manual is important to have first before starting programming. |
May be archived right. I don't know why it wasn't done. May be a gate still opened... You could try to contact organization member, one by one to see it someone as privilege to do so. Nice software though. I love the concept too. 👍️ |
What about forking it and create new versions? |
@LinuxFO done here https://github.com/bazaar-projects/docopt-ng mentioned in #371 |
@Sylvain303 thank you! |
Thank you very much for conceiving and maintaining docopt-ng. We just updated with no troubles at all. 💯 |
Maybe someone has the powers to update the README with a prominent admonition at the top to refer to docopt-ng, and after that, press the "Archive Repository" button? |
With no new release since 2014 and compatibility issues with newer versions of python I think this repository should be officially marked as abandonware.
There are hundreds of unanswered issues and PRs that have been filed to address some of them have been left stale for years.
