Product information and comparison dataset(s)

The need: in my experience it's painfully difficult to compare products e.g. buying a new phone, choosing a cloud storage provider. There are endless threads on fora. content-spammy reviews. even on good quality sites there's a morass of info that makes it hard to actually compare items.

Reflections about an approach:

• User curated: (It needs a community) Collecting and maintaining (evidenced) data needs a community.
• Data oriented (so less simple reviews and more about features)
• including historical data (e.g. how cloud storage providers)
• data analysis: e.g. including

What products would i start with: tech oriented ones e.g. cloud storage, smartphones.

Focus on data rather than opinion.

Use visualization (especially "efficient frontier" approach i.e. price vs quality or similar)

Have a github repo for each product area to start with e.g. a product repo for cloud storage.

• https://capiche.com - really liked this site. (started 2019). high quality content. actual info on the product.

A github repo with a dataset per topic e.g.

Could take a markdowndb approach with a page per product and then query across to get information.

Simple landing page with some visualization and link to each product. Product could link out to reviews.
