External snapshots - what's happening? #1428

Hello
I saw this in the errata about the latest release:
Machines: Create external snapshots when supported

But I can't find any reference in the Issues (open or closed) or in the ReadMe about this.

Nor can I find anything in the GUI about how this is implemented.

Please advise and I apologise if I missed the documentation if it indeed exists.

As of 306 we now switched to external snapshots, more details in the blog post. This requires libvirt 9.9.0.
