I've just done a deep dive on trying to get this to work. These are the logs from Azure
The logs don't contain the line "Browser Started" which should occur immediately after If I wrap the entire function in a try catch, the catch does not ever get hit, which on experience with other unmanaged calls makes me think the dotnet process is crashing. One thought was that it might be a VC++ redist issue. But the version on Azure seems to be sufficient
Containerising the function is out, as only linux containers for functions are supported, and CefSharp needs Windows. I've tried various other combination of settings to produce more verbose logs in the hope of catching more insight into what the actual problem is, but no luck. @amaitland or anyone else with any ideas to test please comment, I'd be happy to run them in an effort to narrow down why the |

Cef.Initialize returns a boolean to indicate success. It almost certainly returned false.
You need to find out what error 21 means. You can ask on https://www.magpcss.org/ceforum/index.php for help.
There are changed in version 120 to how CEF handles exit codes. Based on the number of GPU errors in the 119 log you'll at a minimum need to switch explicitly to software rendering. You can also try There are other command line args that might help (I just don't remember them) |

Using CefSharp 119.4.3, .NET 8.0 and an Azure Function running on an App service plan B2 i have gotten this to work. |

Hmm interesting. I tested a deployment of CefSharp 121.3.70 on a B2 plan and got the same result as I listed above.
As a side mention, I tried PuppeteerSharp on a windows consumption plan, but hit the same SxS issue. And any info online about that suggests a VC++ issue, and I had been thinking the same with Cef. But the below command suggests VC++ seems to be ok on a consumption box
very much mixed success. I'm currently falling back to PuppeteerSharp on linux containers as a workaround. Feels totally overweight, would much prefer a CefSharp solution. |

Hi,
I am trying to create an Azure function, which takes an url and then returns a screenshot of the page.
I have added the package CefSharp.OffScreen.NETCore to the project and the code from CefSharp.MinimapExample for generating a screenshot. Running this in a simple Core console application works as intended, but when run as an Azure Function i get the following error:
