Bokeh build failing

Hi @bokeh/dev, I'm trying to set up a Dev environment via the instructions here on a new MacOS.
Step 6 throws an error message when I run pip install -e . and I don't understand what the issue could be. Here's the full error message:

That's a side effect of PR #13304 and needs fixing.

Alright then. I guess I'll just hold on with the setting up then?

@Azaya89 If you want to try to set up your developer environment whilst Mateusz is fixing the problem, you can checkout the commit just before the problematic one, i.e.

git checkout 38d05d03

and then continue as before.
