CZI: maintenance and sustainability

Part of the CZI grant work is focused on maintenance and sustainability. The overall goal for this segment of the project is “to ensure steady or increasing project momentum.” Specifically: “the project's general ongoing needs around documentation, bug fixing, and infrastructure will have dedicated resources. In addition, we will work to develop a pipeline of new contributors and future leaders within the project team.”

The purpose of this discussion is to collect and discuss issues and pull requests related to the maintenance and sustainability work. More information about other work that is part of this grant is available at #11191 and #11361.
