bleachbit v.: 4.6.0; as RPM format. Acquired at https://www.bleachbit.org/.
Good morning. I thought that no developer could conceive of requiring the root user's password to be set in a UNIX/Linux system in order to operate a session with elevated privileges; I was wrong, as the use of this application proved to me.
/usr/bin/bleachbit-root
requests it, which is also the execution path defined for/usr/share/applications/org.bleachbit.BleachBit-root.desktop
. By default, when installing such a system, no password is set for the root user, which prevents a system user from logging in as such for any reason; I have reasonable motivation for wanting to keep it unset, as setting it is not a recommended practice. I can observe thatsudo -i bleachbit-root
does start the GUI application correctly.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
