Clicking on a link in Playground doesn't provide any feedback and as a user it can feel like nothing is happening.

To improve this we could show a spinner between the window controls and the address bar.

What's the difference between that and regular WordPress?

None, this is comparable to the browser. When I click on a link, the browser shows loaders indicating that the page is being loaded.
The Playground website, doesn't have a built-in loader and doesn't trigger the browser loader so it feels like the click didn't do anything.

Is there a way to trigger the browser loader?

This worked for me in Chrome if triggered from the top (website), it didn't work if it was triggered by remote.

The navigation API is experimental so we would need to provide an alternative solution for Firefox and Safari like a custom loader in the header.
