Greetings,

Need: a calendar linked off of the events.html page.

Purpose: to show the regular (and perhaps any upcoming) events from a) TaxonWorks and b) the entire Species File Group.

Function: Times in UTC would be clickable to see meeting in "my own time." People who use calendaring could subscribe to the (google?) calendar?

Mockups

  • Our current SFG Google Calendar showing "SFG Events" Calendar3
  • Using the above as a mock-up starting point
    Calendar3 - Copy

More
I would also be adding a table specifically for the TaxonWorks repeating meetings. As in
Example Table

Wednesday Early (16:30) Late (19:30) Date
1st of month Taxonomy Open -missed-
2nd of month Digitization Jan 12th
3rd of month Matrices and observations Open Jan 19th
4th of month Technical

I'd like the table dates to change automatically and the UTC to link to people's own time zones (as we already do in the text).

Awaiting discussion / input. Thanks!

@jlpereira @LocoDelAssembly we sort-of have this now (from the Public URL link)? But as discussed, it would be great to add javascript so that the Google Calendar Public URL makes a calendar in one's own time zone at some point.

  • Use this Public URL
to see the TaxonWorks Weekly Plus Calendar (Chicago TIME). (It's not pretty, but it works without login, and updates with any changes made on our end).
