Hi Hock Lim, Its quite interesting that you couldn't get back your known time scale. I suspect it is because the signal your signal is somewhat non-stationary, which is why we've developed methods like mrCOSTS (Tutorial 20; paper in prep) and others have developed similar methods like the non-stationary DMD (NS-DMD; for a pre-print see https://doi.org/10.1101/2023.08.08.552333). I don't think NS-DMD is in development for PyDMD at the moment, but my guess is that it is the perfect method for your data. Some basic questions:
