Drill core data usually has only one specimen per sample and one site per sample. It make sense for people to label each with the same name. So siteName=sampleName=specimenName. When that is the case, only display the siteName on the plot. If sampleName=specimenName then only show siteName.sampleName. These core data also often have long names so they get truncated on the plots. Shortening the text displayed should help this problem also.
You could also do the same with the plot names, but that is not as necessary. One gets plot names like:
