can we force a re-fetch of a collection if the collection editor view is old or regains focus

If we could detect when the user interacts with an editable view of a collection (or maybe studies, too) that was refreshed a long time ago, then we might be able to re-fetch the study.

This could help avoid failures of save actions to be fast-forward merges.
