I have been playing this game (its inspiration) since I was a child and I really like it and this implementation of it. I recently started tinkering with linux phones and tried running the flatpak in phone compositor.
Sadly, that doesnt work well yet.
Proposed solution
I if someone points me to the right direction, I will try to make a PR but I havent found the screen elements yet. The elements need to be slightly more variable (not fixed positions) and the ingame build menu might need to be slide in, maybe depending on orientation since landscape would be better from bottorm or top while portrait would be better from the side I guess.
Side effects
If implemented without proper testing it might make the game ui look less good in different screen sizes and ratios.
Alternatives
The alternative would be to just make a fork and change that one I guess. one could make the ui scale which I find not ideal since the text will be illegible.
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
there was an attempt to make widgets less pixel defined in #18151, but it doesn't seem like this PR got anywhere. There is a need for more sane definitions for #10475, current UI is made for the English language.
In general OpenRA is a massive engine and implementing more variable widget sizes / positions is a huge undertaking. If we were to go ahead with this it would be good to use some already established tooling, we don't want to be inventing everything.
Hi there and thank you for responding so fast and constructive. I‘ll check the issue you mentioned. I‘m willing to help with implementing this because I‘m a huge fan of this game and its open implementation. I am vaguely familiar with SDKs and libraries so I might be able to at least help with implementing it. I did learn c++ at some point but I‘m very rusty.Lmk if I can do anything more. Have a nice day.Am 12.04.2024 um 14:00 schrieb Gustas ***@***.***>:
