No it should not. A layer is a collection of objects often from others for special purposes and should not be able to manipulate. I've for example a collection of mooring buoys from a cruising association. |

I'm trying to better understand layers.
When creating a route, you can use a nearby waypoint. From the manual:
Using nearby independent Waypoints
When creating routes, OpenCPN will ask if it should use a nearby mark, when a route point is added that is close to an already existing mark. If you click “Yes”, the existing mark is copied to the route.
Why doesn't this work when the waypoint is in a layer? Should it? If not, how do people use waypoints in layers?
