Some time ago I started implementing Sprint Layout support. I can load the outline and parts quite well except for some (PLCC only draw around one pin or something), but while the format does allow providing the netlist, it's usually empty for the boards I'm interested in, because people only used it to recreate PCBs by tracing over scans of the originals, not caring about doing proper schematics and whatnot.
So it's kind of useless until there's a way to calculate it from the traces, which there are unconnected bits that just touch each other, not even single objects.
I'm wondering if other formats are alike, and if it'd be useful to have some generic framework for this kind of things… Not like I'd be doing it tomorrow anyway…
