I understand why, but this will raise a lot of question marks for most people.
Maybe replace it with just "Open"?

This is my opinion:

The open and close button is correct, since TriFusion offers the functionality of from one dialogue opening multiple files from multiple folders, which is nice. Therefore, I may want to open files but not close the dialogue.

What is amiss here, in my opinion, is visual feedback of what files are open. On the left, by pressing "menu" one can see what files are open. But while opening files, this information is not visible. Not only it should be visible, it is the reason for this "unintuitiveness". A reorganization of that dialogue may be in place.
